The other day I saw a cab with the plate-holders name on front doors.

Not sure I really like that, especially if you have a non standard name. [-X

Does anyone else have such a system, and what's the sense of it. Don't we all have plate and badge numbers?

Funny I thought it was like that everywhere.

Here we have the name on the passengers door only but in dundee they have it on both side as far as i know.

I think the private hire in dundee are the same, but here theres nothing on the doors at all.

So all thats on the private hires in fife is a small plate and apart from that they are unmarked, but they may have something in the window these days.

I would prefer not to have my name on the door but its not a big issue here.

My first registered post i feel quite dizzy. 8-[
I dont like the idea of my name on my car doors. But whtas the point when you have some owners that never drive them?
Also some cars have so many drivers you will need a extra door or two to put all the names on. :D

lets hope the name plate idea is one that fades away. i would not like to see that here at all, just in the interest of the personal safety of drivers.

I wonder exactly how many people notice it. :?

But I'm still not a fan, maybe licensing officers should have their names printed on their car doors.

In Dundee, believe the names and plate number on the side doors, are for the security of the passengers.
one to know it is a legit taxi and also if anything happens they can tell the name or plate number of the taxi they were in.
That is if they are sober enough.
Also yellow plate on the back of hackney, white for PH.
Plate number showing, plus test time and seat capacity.

Years ago in York we had to display our licence complete with our name and address, :x a big commotion was kicked up with the LO and we got it kicked out

It only needs some disgrunted pasenger  to take note of your name [or find your telephone number]and address and come and put your house windows in
