Go to TDO home page, move your mouse over the page, then up pops at top of your browser in the yellow band where you would click to allow to download a file

it says Microsoft data access Remote Data Service dat, without you doing anything up pops this program that starts doing a full scan , the name of the spyware is a known spyware program called Internet Antivirus Pro, you then have to ctrl -alt -delete to get rid of the program

foget what i said was the name of the virus cos it changes when it tells you your infected,

Thank goodness for Mozilla then, cos that browser allows no pop-ups.

Suggest folks run their updated scans.

I've had a pop up from my AV blocking something that's trying to load when you open this site, might be worth looking into, hasn't happened for a few days though.

Have you downloaded any recent spyware checkers such as www.STOPzilla.com or www.pctools.com/spyware-doctor/download/

Sounds as if you have a piece of malware running on your computer.

Run spybot to get rid of it.

I use "Hijack This" when all else fails. But you have to know what you are looking for. Run it, and it will produce a log. It will list what is running on your pc. Locate a file that you are not familiar with and enter it into Google and see what the result is.

At a guess I would believe you should be looking for something ending in " .exe " as these are usually executable programs .

However, if you delete something that you shouldnt then you may stop a legitimate program from running.

When you run it choose "Quick Start" and you will be taken to a useful site that will give you instructions.

Good luck

Skip you need to do system restore! performance & maintenance. Restore to an earlier point say one month before your trouble started. If you not sure go 6 months.

A system restore will never rid a pc of a virus.

Correct. Viruses usually copy themselves to the system restore files and get restored with everything else. You should switch off system restore when cleaning viruses.

Skippy, did you reformat your hard drive and do a clean install of windows? If not, you won't get rid of the virus.
