Who's bottom of the pile?

Unrestricted Bolsover who charge 3 and sixpence.

Does that add to the debate? :?

After talking to the nice young lady who is coordinating the consultation process, on the telephone, yes that's right you can google the LC and get the number and phone up. Anyway, my impression was that they(LC) were indeed happy to accept as many submissions to the consult as was possible. So mine is already done. I spoke with her for at least 20 minutes and she was keen to learn as much as possible about the trade.
It seems to me that apathy amongst British workers will be the downfall once again.
You come on here pointing fingers and mouthing off about this that and the other, but you wouldn't spend a couple of hours researching and submitting your own point of view but when someone actually does try to stand up for something(Mr Melling, Wigan), you call him a fool basically.
Makes me laugh really.
Yes the Unions do have their own agendas, I should know, but at least they will make it their business to try and get what they want by submitting to the consult, instead of sitting on their hands.
I'm pretty sure my submission doesn't match their or your viewpoint, but it's been accepted, because I could be bothered to write it.
It was the same for the TSC, anyone can submit to it and give evidence and by the way, the more the merrier!
Just one word of warning though, don't expect the LC to do anything other than what they like! Ha ha!

Quote:
Thirteen councils in Sussex.

Three restricted.
Brighton and Hove Flag £2.60 2 mile £6.20
Mid Sussex Flag £2.80 2 mile £6.40
Hastings Flag £2.80 2 mile £5.70

Ten delimited.
Eastbourne Flag £2.60 2 mile £5.70
Lewes Flag £2.80 2 mile £5.60
Crawley Flag £3.60 2 mile £5.80
Wealdon No council set rate.
Rother Flag £2.40 2 mile £6.20
Arun Flag £2.50 2 mile £6.40
Adur Flag £2.80 2 mile £6.60
Chichester Flag £3.00 2 mile £5.80
Horsham Flag £3.40 2 mile £5.50
Worthing Flag £3.00 2 mile £5.60

Flag average in three restricted = £2.73

Flag average in ten delimited = £2.90

Two mile average fare in three restricted = £6.10

Two mile average fare in ten delimited = £5.91

So down here in paradise it will cost you 17p less to get into a restricted cab, but 19p more to get out of it.

I copied this post from a previous thread to indicate there is next to, or, no difference between restricted areas and unrestricted areas, at least in my area.

We are agreed on that, but one option will be a lot worse than the other.

The reason that Bolsover are bottom of the pile is that there is NOT ONE Hackney Carriage in Bolsover, or so I am reliably informed.

And as that has apparently been the case for a decade or two, the 'trade' have not applied for a fare increase, so the current fare table is historic and therefore irrelevant to the debate.

Trust me it won't be worth a light by then.

How is it that the Brighton boys were at Exeter and they too were tearing their hair out at the 'free market' agenda of the LC?

Will it make a difference once they put in their proposed changes to the law?
