Another female driver in Scotland targeted by a young crazy

And this one's a 20-year-old 'youth' :-s

But he was a teenager when the offence happened (the same age as the alleged Dundee perps, presumably), so that's OK then.

Peebles youth avoids jail after striking taxi driver with bottle

A PEEBLES youth who struck a female taxi driver on the head with a wine bottle has been told he has only avoided a custodial sentence because of his age.

Cameron Sinclair was a teenager when he carried the assault on the woman in Northgate, Peebles, on November 16 last year.

He admitted assaulting her to her severe injury and permanent disfigurement which caused a cut to her eyebrow and required to be glued at Borders General Hospital.

Sinclair also caused a disturbance at the hospital where he assaulted a man to his injury.

Selkirk Sheriff Court was told that Sinclair, of George Street, Peebles, was part of a 14-strong wedding party which was transported by taxi to Edinburgh and then returned to the Central Bar.

The taxi driver noted someone had been sick in the vehicle and Sinclair admitted he was responsible.

But when she told him he needed to clean it up he refused and then struck the woman with a green wine bottle.

Her glasses were broken during the assault and Sinclair attempted to run away but was stopped by other people and held until the police arrived.

Sheriff Peter Paterson said the only reason why Sinclair was not going to jail was due to his age and the direction the courts have been given regarding that.

He deferred sentence for six months for good behaviour and for a supplementary report to be produced.

Sheriff Paterson warned the 20-year-old that any breach of the order would be a significant factor in the ultimate sentence Sinclair would receive and "would clearly increase the prospect of you going to jail”.

The case will recall on April 27.

Which is maybe why that Dundee crazy has been roaming the streets despite the obvious danger he'd posed even in the last year or two by battering people all over the place ](*,)

The Justice system both up north and down south has got massive issues.

The biggest of those is that those who make the big decisions have never been in a position to be a victim of serious crime.

Did someone mention Ivory Towers?
