Indeed, don’t panic, as Mr Jones used to say.
In the two by elections, there are almost always quirky results.
But to put a bit of Tory spin on it, more voters voted conservative.
Conservative combined vote. 24,634 Labour combined vote. 14,728 Illiberal rejoin the eu party. 23,035
Labour gained one seat, and finished third in the other with 1,562 votes. A ringing endorsement for kier starmer? I don’t think so.
The illiberal, undemocratic party, who would drag us back into the eu as a price for a pact with Labour, which starmer the remainer would be happy with, gained one seat, and finished EIGHTH, in the other, behind an independent, a Yorkshire party candidate, a green, a reform uk, and an “other” for goodness sake.
Has ANY party really got anything to crow about? I don’t think so.
What me, worry?
