to me all this does is create an advantage for the private hire on the rates that they charge.

One tier system mate . . . . it's the only answer.

Then your playing field would be spot on the bubble (in the spirit-level).

Considering the private hire have been left out of the equation you're one Tear system is about as likely to happen as you being able to make a nice cup of tea in a chocolate teapot

Tea & Kraft's . . . now there's an indulgence!!!
Each to their own... personally I would much prefer a bottle or two of a cheeky red wine and nice T-bone steak..... followed by an ample supply of Scotch

T-bone steak . . . now there's a rarety.

And for it to be properly grilled, so as not to destroy it . . . even more rare!!

One of the first consequences of this legislation will be that the number of taxis (HC) will drop significantly as drivers switch to PH, to avoid buying WAVs. This will be especially true in rural areas like yours bloodnock, where taxis (HC) may all but disappear
This in turn will lead to a chronic shortage of taxis on peak periods like Saturday nights.
Considering the lack of enforcement in most areas, this void will get filled by PH picking up illegally and unlicenced chancers.

Also, very few wheelchair users actually hail taxis on the street or use ranks. Most phone for a lift.
It won't go unnoticed for very long that these people are still struggling for a service..........

And the only people making money will be the radio systems..... strange.... they were suddenly made exempt.... I wonder why ............

Well done gusmac.

It would appear this area is delimited, yet due to the standards in place for HC's, everyone went Ph?

With no cabs, a limit would seem rather pointless, would it not?
Even you can't say quality controls didn't keep numbers down here

Absolutely right.

I will push for purpose built vehicles only everywhere, brand new on first license and no older than 2 on subsequent

There's
