This can only be equal in the vehicle sense and not in the sense of the customer requirements as all customers have different needs. Providing a vehicle that only meets the needs of one particular section of society is not equal.

I'd be aswell asking cab direct........the point is the E7 is no better than a TX.....but you can perhaps come to that conclusion or a different one when the government make you buy one

Additionally, I thought we were still in the consultation process on this; Is this another back door job?

I don't detect any concerns from previous posts on this topic; I was under the impression that few wanted 100% WAV fleets because of the impact on the mobile infirm?

I'm all confused. Should I be writing to my MP?

Quoting yourself aint going to make any difference

I think questions need asked......as the bill itself is going to raise plenty of questions.

The consultation period is over, and it appears that the gov will allow each council to decide what constitutes a WAV, not give regulations from central gov. That is a big plus.

Also one has to bear in mind that the WAV rules were put together nearly 15 years ago, the only issue not sorted was a start date (which we still don't have yet).

But this bill has a bit of a way to go before it becomes an act, however I doubt the taxi bit will change.

But I have been wrong many times before.

This consultation is still ongoing and they've included the subject of the consultation in the bill as a fait accompli. Giving the secretary of state power to introduce the measures while a consultation is in progress is surely an abuse of process.

I've looked out the reply I had from the minister, Paul Clark, dated 22nd April, which mention other consultations into the detail of a strategy possibly extending into 2010.

I'm struggling to copy it and load it to this thread at the moment but, I sent CC a copy by E mail on 28th April. It may be that he would be kind enough to scrub my ID from the letter and post it here if he is able.
