Our Council have introduced a new medical form to be used from tomorrow.
The form is 20 pages long.
Should there have been any consultation with drivers before implementation?

Would have been nice, but I'm not sure they legally needed to.

The policy that drivers have a medical is already in place, what's in that medical is really down to officials, who in fairness can't consult every time there is a change.

Licensing authorities should consult on proposed changes in licensing rules that may have significant impacts on passengers and/or the trade. Such consultation should include not only all taxi and private hire vehicle licensees but also groups likely to be the trades’ customers. I won’t go into the Sedley requirements

Maybe their theory is that by the time it's completed the drivers in question will have died of old age.

Ours is just half a page long and signed by a Doctor whos given you the once over.
