So policy is from april 1st CCTV is required...

The LA sent out a survey, should it be optional

No replies (except there were)

Hold a trade meeting?.....cancelled

Have a zoom meeting..... trade vote it down

now the LA are letting the local police commissioner decide yay or nay

we have no tech specs and no data impact report

=D> =D> =D> =D>

Yes we logged your email.

There was an online consultation form but that had no responses by the deadline.

Did you complete that online form?

I will need to check that if you did because I was told there were no responses recorded?

I did have two email responses (including your’s) which I passed on so they have been logged.

Not sure they are authorised to set licensing conditions.

Good afternoon

Thank you for your email with regard to the consultation on CCTV in taxis.

The current taxi policy states that CCTV will be mandatory from April 2022 as, at the time the policy was written it was expected that legislation would be approved requiring CCTV in taxis. However, that legislation has not come into force so we are carrying out a consultation to establish whether there is a need for Lichfield DC to maintain such a requirement. If the consultation demonstrates that there is no evidence to justify mandatory CCTV the Committee will amend the policy to make CCTV optional and at the choice and discretion of the vehicle proprietor.

The outcome of the consultation has no bearing on the validity or expiry of current licence plates.

If the consultation comes back in support of mandatory CCTV we will issues details of specifications and the data controller.

the feb 24th licensing committee meeting has been cancelled meaning CCTV must remain as mandatory
