The is something I have often thought.
The Preforming Rights Society (http://www.mcps-prs-alliance.co.uk/Pages/default.aspx) recently said that companies who play the radio in the back office/workshop etc should hold (ie pay) for a licence, even if they employ one or two staff.

So what happens if a passenger asks me to turn up the radio as they want to hear the news?
Do I need a PRS licence?

I believe that's why LTI don't have speakers in the back to get round that issue.

That's another reason to listen to LBC, the people who use the cab at night don't tend to ask for it to be turned up.

I think a time will come when the PRI try it on with the taxi/PH trade, as I believe they have with the limos, and there are some threads on here.

But I can tell anyone for nothing, they will get **** all from me.

Ialways thought it was the PCO that didnt allow speakers, possibly on account of you liking the Proclaimers?

Not quite.
I have seen plenty of drunken Englishmen, but I wouldn't ask why most drunks were English - or any other nationality for that matter. [-X

I might offer the following explanation:

Most Scotsmen you meet in this state will have been in England.
Therefore they were in need of strong drink to dull the pain of being parted from their beautiful homeland and cast into such an abysmal and godforsaken place.
