Hi All
I'm just about to buy a Skoda Superb MKII, I'm not sure what engine to go for.
I will be buying a car around 09 plate so it will be a choice of a 140PD or 170CR engine. I would like to hear comments from people that are running the different engines, and any recommendations you may have?

The Type of driving I do is 75% long runs 25% urban.

Thanks for your help in advance.

i run a 62 plate S spec superb 1.6 TDI and it has plenty on punch, but your car will be an 09 plate so you have the choice of 1.9 TDI PD what skippy runs or a 2.0 140 PD or 170CR but the superb is a great car and the space is brill especially in the back, are you after a hatch or estate? either way it is a great car

If you can find a 1.9 tdi or the newer 2ltr 140 CR., the early 2ltrs where TDI, the new CR units
the 2ltr 140 tdi, has a problem with the oil supply to the turbo due to the oil pump failing

Your talents are being waisted CC, you should apply to the VW Audi group as a test driver, as your the only person known to have wrecked a skoda, by driving one

Serious motors, for serious work

I know someone with one also a merc saloon and a Volvo but they only do top end work and have a "no plate plate"
