I am too intelligent to go on a boat that sinks on purpose - 22 years in the Andrew - only ships. Even managed to avoid helicopters, 'cause those bastads don't look like they should work.

I think perhaps there is more chance that the yellow submarine is likely to float a tad better than the holey rust bucket that adorns our ferry terminal

I told you lot further up the post, intelligent people like me DO NOT GO ON BOATS THAT SINK ON PURPOSE.

We will however take the risk on boats or ships that only sink by accident.

At least on a surface vessel you have a very good chance with lifejackets, liferafts, lifeboats and the much applauded RNLI.

Perhaps NALEO and their sister organization IoL should consider having their conferences on a Submarine.

But the idea of a RORO Ferry aint bad - might suit the Transport Minister to kill two birds with one stone. Duty reduced (taxes in the country of purchase being payable) booze and fags being a side benefit.

Also those that suffer Mal de Mere won't slow procedings down and the sailors can conclude business quickly and adjorn to the bar.

There are many options - Dover to Calais and back about three or four hours - Portsmouth to Spain and back about three days. Any number of options between.

I rule out the Isle of Wight ferry - fags and booze are not cheaper there!

Not nowadays - even the quietest Subs are easy to find.

If you were in the Andrew you would know that helicopters work because they are so very ugly, gravity is repulsed by them.

I didn't know that but it is feasable.

I do know that Submariners throw bread at them.
