Would you like to rephrase that comment Guss, or has your council come to there senses at last, and stopped cutting the roof linings of vehicles that are already running throughout the UK without it being done, and insisting that all new drivers provide a WAV

nope the skoda in youre manor aint mine skippy
bloody long way to go for a drive everyday.
it may be someone who cant get a drive up here or is unwilling to pay the dear rentals.
i was thinking of an east lothian cab and running it in the toon fri sat night.
whats to stop me ? (saf with his anon bull or jim b with his fictional fights  )

thats just a bit out of order gusmac you do not know any of these owners not all are scumbags. i hardly think that most owners are making a fortune with the rentals they charge (i know my mate is not) when you take in to account the price they paid for there plate and in some cases a new taxi.
i know owners who charge a lot less than the £300+ tosh thats been quoted here and i know a lot of guys who have been with there owners for years and they are happy as they are being treated fair so dont get sucked in by all owners are demons down in the capital city where the sheep do not live in fear

chipper you make it sound as though i duped someone into parting with 50K for something that aint worth that.
youre half right.
btw the guy is very well informed and knows the score, and he will confirm if he wishes! that i did indeed advise him to put an application in rather than buy mine.
but thats his choice not mine.
i sold for profit, thats the name of the game, wether driving a taxi or selling a plate.
nuff said

ALI T i know you did not dupe anyone in to buying the plate you have stated that b4 and thats fair enough you did not lie to the guy and if it comes back to bite him in the tail he cant say he was not warned of the possiable risks as you say "his choice not mine"

i have nothing against you for doing what you have done i just fail to see the point in getting the plate then selling it maybe its just down to diff view points mate
its not rocket science
i paid x amount and was able to sell for x amount
i made a huge profit.
thats why i sold.
i aint a communist you know.
and i aint a samaratin iether, its just business.
i wanted to sell the other guy wanted to buy.
it was mine to sell,i fought for it blood and all, perhaps i am more entiteled to sell than others who have not earned it.but nether the less were granted a plate free gratis, think about that for a moment!
and yes i still believe that everyone should get a plate if they want it,i believed that when i was renting ,i believed it when i had my own plate and i still believe it now.
whats the problem ???

btw chipper if you fail to see the point.
it kinda proves that you dont have a head for business.
its about profit nothing more.
its not about all standing together in some sort of psuedo socialst/union struggle
i think youre getting a tad mixed up with working rights and good business practice

Don’t tell me you have bought into this exalted status crape just because you’ve passed your brief Chipper?

I can’t help but get the feeling that your self-esteem has shot up through the roof and now you want to become part of the super cabby mindset.

Taking on the group belief system is not thinking for yourself Chipper. If anything it is exactly the opposite. You might want to belong to some group and become popular amongst your peers but trust me, you are only following the sheep to the slaughter.

Don’t go there chip, stay strong.

The price, although extortionate, isn't as important as the fact that they perpetuate a system which keeps drivers from owning their own cabs, unless they have £50k to spare. This system sucks and so do those who wish to perpetuate it.

Put in a thousand applications Ali,it's your money.
Edinburgh will not de-regulate thats for sure, yes maybe in years to come we may need a few more taxi's but as it is just now NO UNMET DEMAND.
Once again Ali,we all know how you got your plate but we also know how long you kept it before you sold it.
The council are NOT going to arse this up Ali
Just like all the sh*te before the last visit to the courts from the dynamic duds, what was it they said,"the council won't turn up",we all know they did and that they know they are going to wipe the floor with them again.
When and where have i been proven wrong Ali ?
Ali you are "servile scum" just like the rest of us owners, the difference though is you sh*t yourself and jumped ship because victory was imminent
The funny thing is you actually believe that you are finished with the trade but we all know everything that comes out your mouth is lies :^o :^o :^o
You have had your moment of glory, where as mine just keeps going from strength to strength. :D :D :D :D

you dont seriosly believe i will ever drive a taxi again do you
when have you been proven wrong well lets see.
mmmmm.... come to think of it you aint probably becouse youve never actaully stated anything or had any opinion other than the opposing side are w.ankers name calling cr.ap thats all you ever say really.

if thats youre moment of glory carry on sports fan.
just schoolboy stuff really

oh and btw you have no idea how i got my plate, nor for that matter how the other 5 got thiers, and niether do you know nor understand whats going on with the current cases,as has been proven in this thread with the fact that you thought taylor/skulls applications were the ones being considered in court at the moment.
youre just a blustering fool saf/tc.
a true representation of the leaders of the edinburgh taxi trade

Ali,you know you fu*ked up by selling your plate your hardly going to admit it are you #-o #-o #-o #-o
As i said,"never been proven wrong"where as you Ali,you live twenty four hours a day knowing that you have been and on numerous occasions as well
There you go again with your assumptions Ali,"you have no idea how i got my plate",everybody knows how you got your plate after all you did like to shout it from the roof tops didn't you
"A blustering fool",as i said you still keep telling the jokes.
Btw you know you will try and get a drive don't you,it's the only thing you can do.
It's not as if you are a multi lingual talented mechanic with a degree in computers is it. :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o :^o

ok saf ill give you the benefit
how did i and the other 5 get thier plates.
explain it to me.
the info is readily available for anyone with a slight degree of intellegence.
and a little bit of determination.
and while youre at it explain the workings if the current cases,in youre own words of course, you dont have to be technical, just concice in youre approach and understanding.
and just a hint for you none of the cases involving the 6 plates were down to a council boob as you keep telling yourself.
of course if you cant do it then ill know 100% that you are a blustering
fool, mind you thats only an increase of 2% of what i already know of you.

btw are you attempting to communicate with people in the above post?
becouse you said absolutely nothing, its just a quote of my post with the occasional smilie and an occasional pearl of youre own

The main reasons for the six plates Ali was the council did not reply in the time period they were supposed to.....FACT
Anything else i tell you will all be lies anyway..
The only fool is you Ali but as i said,"your hardly going to admit it are you"
You jumped what you thought was a sinking ship and if you got your plate for nothing what did you have to lose.
Now as i keep saying,"you will be back on the road soon and contributing to us real business mens lifestyle".
Btw the new owner of plate 1266 doesn't remember being told to apply rather than buy,is this yet another little lie Ali

I believe plate restrictions are fundamentally wrong and artificial plate values are obscene. I believe every driver should have the right to own his own cab instead of lining the pockets of greedy scumbags. I don't just agree with everything Skull, Jasbar and Ali T say but they make a lot more sense than the likes of you.
What do you believe in saf, apart from the power of smilies and bullchit?
You wouldn't recognise an original thought if it kicked you in the boll*cks.

Not many drivers up here paying £300 a week for a shared drive nor anyone stupid enough to pay £50,000 for a piece of council owned plastic.
If it's fools you seek, I would look closer to home if I were you.

I wouldn't want to be part of your trade saf. I wouldn't pay £50k for a plate. I wouldn't pay £300 (or even £200) for a shared drive. I wouldn't want to be stuck with the gas guzzling LTI shi*te you guys have to put up with.
And I wouldn't put up with a council that thinks it's above the laws of Scotland.
You saf and your ilk are the insignificant ones. One day you may just realise that.

Not many drivers paying £300+plus down here either Gusmac but thats what Gary tells you so it must be true
As for the rest of your post i take it you still have the straw in your mouth
don't you
You don't have a clue on the Edinburgh taxi trade Gusmac and as long as you keep listening to the three amigos you never will. :D

Ali, the time scale to deny your applications thats why,FACT
As for plate number 1266 that should have been 1276,we all make mistakes Ali don't we
It's just some of us make bigger mistakes than others, you know like £52k
if you held your bottle that little bit longer you could have had at least £60k

Proof once again for you to be that liar we all know you are Ali,to repeat, plate 1276 does not recall you saying to "apply rather than buy" now what a surprise

it doesnt surprise me in the least that plate 1266 or 1276 doesnt recall me saying that to them becouse niether of them know me,you see i had plate 1278
and why the mix up you claim to have at least set youre eyes upon me so you should know my number no?
funny thing is saf you claim to have asked them but surley it would have been apparent that they did not buy from me,or did you forget to ask if they bought from me,or did you ask them at all, which seems to be the conclusion that the evidence is pointing to.

more bluster and guess work if you ask me.

right saf since you have no idea ill put you straight

the council have six months to come to a decision on an application.
now they knew that we knew that they had no evidence of unmet demand that would stand up in court, and they knew that if they denied the aplications, that they would have fallen foul of the coyle and dundee cases.
so they applied to the courts to extend the time period allowed under the act, they knew they had no chance with this iether(but at the time they had no other plan except delay)
the courts finally ruled that asking for an extension of the six months should only be done under extreme circumstances,of which this wasnt one.
in fact they went on to say that it came no were near reaching the criteria for an extension.
now can you explain to me how this is a council blooper saf cause i just dont see it.
after all they asked for the extension FACT
had they not asked for the extension and had denied the applications the would have been immediatly granted by a court FACT
in other words saf they had nothing, and if they had followed the law they would have simply had to grant the licences FACT
all they achieved was an extension to the inevitable FACT
and thats all thier doing with the present applications FACT
dont get me wrong im sure thier getting better at it,but the more these cases go into court the narrower the options become as far as putting youre own cynical interpritation of the law,its getting near impossable for them to appear to be reasonable dont you think.

as for the rest of youre nonesence
well i fight for my rights, not youres i fight and make a fuss of all the [edited by admin] politically driven legislation, not for you but for me and my kids ,becouse this country is turning fascist,if they cant get you for one thing they will get you for another.
if you want youre kids to grow up in that kind of society thats fine.but it doesnt rest well with me.
plates will never be worth more than 50k.imo
youre about to see the tide turn im afraid,
i jumped my board on the crest of the wave and landed softly on the beach, and what a lovely beach it is.
any hoo i think its been proven saf that you have little to say,and no understanding of what others say.
and what you dont know youll happily make up.
as i said a blustering fool with a big gob
