The reason for the register is to stop people on it from being involved in activities that involve children.

That's not always the case.

There are a number of people who are on the register for having consenting single-sex sex in public. Now I know that's illegal and all that, but it shouldn't effect their abilities to work with children. If it did we would have many 100s less teachers.

Also the sex offenders register is just that, if the courts want to ban someone from working with children, then they will do just that.

A little bit more on this from the IoL site. http://www.instituteoflicensing.org/art ... w+set.html

Very interesting bit re: DfT Guidance for PSV Limo licensing, especially the no over 8s.

There is a reply, of sorts, from the Limo mob in PHM.

http://www.phtm.co.uk/media/1217248323.pdf

I can't understand why Mr Bowling keeps on about sect 265 of the 2000 Transport Act. :?

All that did was stop small PSVs charging one vehicle one price. Of course 99.99% of small PSVs ignore that, but what's new there? :?

I do understand that some limo people cant get licensed through no fault of there's. But if you cant get licensed it does not mean carry on without one. it means that you are not in a position to trade as a limo operator.
Tough I know but no one has a right to any license. until the powers that be start to nick ALL unlicensed operators nothing will change.
