I wonder if they will pass work to those unlicensed pink things in Warrington?

And as they are advertising for PH work, I wonder who many operator licenses the owner of the website has?

Don't think that matters a jot.

They are operating as defined by the act i.e.

means in the course of business to make provision for the invitation or acceptance of bookings for a private hire vehicle

They are inviting people to make bookings for private hire vehicles.

Yes or no? :?

In a telephone directory the people/firms offering their wares should all be licensed PH operators.

Unless they are offering a 100% hackney service.

It will be interesting to see how this pans out in respect of the service being offered.

There are already numerous hire and reward directories on the internet, lets see if this is just a clone of those that exist?

Regards

As I see it, they are displaying the numbers of private hire operators and you contact the company direct, not the web site people. Just the same as yellow pages displays company contacts, you don't contact yellow pages. Just the same as google will show you company websites, you don't contact google. Just the same as if you rang your local LA and asked them for a list of licensed operators.....................................etc

I understand what you are saying, but even if you took the view that they aren't advertising themselves, surely you can't argue that they are 'making a provision for the invitation or acceptance of bookings for a private hire vehicle'.

I don't think that applies cos the it's the operators themselves that are making the provision, same as an advert in the paper.

No not at all, they don't take bookings and you don't contact them. You are trying to make something from nothing, just accept that in this case you are wrong.
