Do you have type 1 or type 2 diabetes?
Some councils will not allow type 1 diabetics to hold a license.

Not so sure if it's that grandad, I think the factor is whether you're treated by insulin or not.

Type 1s are almost always insulin treated, not so with Type 2s, but it's the insulin treatment that's the danger, not what type it is.

I think :)

There is a new treatment available to type 1 diabetics that is NOT insulin. I cant remeber the name but my diabetes nurse is trying to get it for me so that I don't have to go on insulin.

I would emphasise my previous comment that a chat with the Diabetic Association may prove fruitful.

Good advice, but added to that is a letter from his diabetic consultant saying he is ok to work in the taxi/PH trade.

Both good advice, will get onto this, cheers.

The drug is called Exenatide. It is injected like insulin. I think it is for people that have a body mass index of greater than 35 and is used to help type 2 diabetics from becoming insulin dependent. I will find out more when I have had an appointment with my doctor.
