Taxi driver in court on sex charges


A taxi driver is set to go on trial accused of drugging and sexually assaulting women passengers.

John Worboys, 51, of Rotherhithe, south-east London, is charged with 23 offences between October 2006 and February 2008.

The licensed black cab driver will appear in custody before Mr Justice Penry-Davey at Croydon Crown Court. Worboys is accused of drugging women passengers at locations across London on 13 dates over a 16-month period.

We are not taking on anyone else's woes, the driver accused is a licensed taxi driver.

Thus it's everyone involved in the taxi/PH trade's woes. :sad:

well its funny that when a "minicab" driver is nicked/accused, etc the "taxi" section all slag of anything thats not HC, but when its a HC driver (in his iconic black london cab note) thats guilty then suddenly theres no distinction between PH and HC...

I think its disgusting and I'm a HC driver, but I also know the way the press report all attacks is that they frequently use the words taxi, cab, cabbie etc.

To be fair to sussex he is at least consistent, he's always classed the two trades as the same, possibly because the background checks for both trades are the same and the fact that they are reported in the same manner.

Either way, the gentleman in question is innocent until proven guilty?

I agree, but there are times when those of us that drive PH should take the lead and not follow the idiots from the hackney side who take joy out of slagging us all off for the actions of the very few.
