The job was only 0.7 miles, what if the car had travelled 4 miles to get to the job? The Lincolnshire poacher is right on the outskirts of Lincoln on the ring road so I'm guessing they booked a city based PH who implemented a booking charge which they are right to do IMO. Travelling 4 miles for a job which is not going to turn the meter over is out of order if you ask me. The driver needs to make money.

We only charge one way regardless how far they are going. I can't see how you can charge for the milage to get to somebody. If you don't think the fare is worth the effort then don't do the job

If your a rural PH you have to charge from leaving the house....otherwise you might get 10 miles of fare for a 25 mile round trip...but then again People here know and expect that , Best give them rough a price before you take the job.

as for charging all jobs the same...well under Ph its not really set in stone, as the price you agree is between you and the client..it may involve meet and greet, or it may have other demands. However, I personally would Give the disabled the exact same fare price as anybody else.

Thanks for the explanation, not being rural Ph it never ocurred to me that things would be different in outer mongolia

I quote for a job if asked, if they dont like it.....shame

but i usually only do groups of upto 7, so they would generally need to book two cars or a PH bus, locally most are owned by HC bases meaning they charge HC rates and then some....

i.e. what they charge for a car to heathrow is what i charge for a 7 seater, mine has substantially more legroom and luggage space than any E7 ive seen... also they charge 50% more between midnight and 6am, whereas i only make a token £10 charge extra each way.

They charge £180 + 50% for taking 7 to heathrow, i would charge £130

If i pickup 5 miles down the way (nearer LHR) i charge the same, if its the other way i charge more

its not rocket science is it.........is it?

but PH working through a base would only charge "per loaded mile" id have thought

Or in other words, the above is a typical example from four years ago, toots. I was merely showing an example.

Had I wanted to make an example of Toots, (which I did not) It would have read "For example; Toots"

Clear?

I used to brew all my own beer and make wine when the kids were young and we couldn't afford to go out too often. Next door neighbour did likewise and the four of us had some wonderful times without having to leave the kids to a babysitter.

Ahhh.....Those were the days.... 8) 8) 8) 8)
