Skippy I don't think you can make punters pick the 1st cab. Consumer choice

In our town there are no official ranks outside the 2 night clubs so it is a free for all. Drivers usually "rank" up outside one of the clubs but as the kebab shop and curry shop are further down the road people comming from that end usually take the first taxi from the back of the rank. You can be sitting at the front and not get a fare whilst everyone else is as busy as hell.

There is nothing wrong with the sentiment the problem lies in the illegality of the condition.

We can only work to the law but here we have yet another case of a council making up their lown laws.

Jd, who do we turn to to get the law changed so that it makes it compulsory for the punters to use the first cab from any rank.
can it be done????

I think it would need an act of parliament in Englend & Wales, Scottish Parliament where you are.
Talk to your MSP but be prepared for some disappointment. Removing consumer choice isn't popular.

I dont understand this....perhaps Skippy should start shouting and raving about the OFT report being wrong in encouraging taxi proprietors to set lower fares?
