FALKIRK COUNCIL

DRIVER - £100

PLATE - £120

HACKNEY TEST - £32 (6 months)

METER CALIBRATION - £14

NEW APPLICANT - £200, then 2 years renewal before application for a plate can be made. Double fee due for initial application and vehicle must be wheelchair accessible.

Any current plate holder wishing to change from a 4 seater to 5/6/7 etc must put on a WAV.

No idea about the PH figures. But would reckon they are similar if not exactly the same.

How many vehicles and licensed drivers in total.....and how many licensing staff?

Found it....250 licensed vehicles....with your low fee's I think your council is subsidising your license......can I write a letter and ask for an audit ?

Operators licence £170, this includes taxi test, drivers badge £75 1 year, plate deposit £25
CRB £36 one off
Vehicle Substitution £70

250 x £170 = £42,500
300 x £75 = £22,500

Income £65,000 ish probably slightly more.

Seems like its a fair guess that your rate payers are paying for the licensing department.

No CC our council only charge what is required to process the licences.
They have also taken into account the economic climate of the area

Would you care to try and elaborate, as to why every council charges different rates for the same process.

Would you prefer the government to set the rates I would, then at least all councils would be singing from the same hymn book
