PH were licensed in the 70s to bring in some checks and balances for a trade that had no checks and balances.

If anything over the last 33 years PH have, or are being, cloned into taxis.

You're possibly right about the cloning bit but I feel that PH will over take the services of taxis forcing HC to become part of a system that they don't really want to join :D

Likewise in York, we too are not to raise our fares!

If greedy PH bosses put the fares up to a proper level and charged fare an a half after midnight, job done!

But the 'greedy PH bosses' have cut their fixed costs by increasing the fleet and making economies of scale. Hence, the prices are lower and the sales are higher.

The market reaches an equilibrium for a short period before conditions change and the cycle starts all over again. It's the way the world has always worked; Man will only do what he perceives will make him a profit.

If anything, the actions of the councils and governments have been taken in an attempt to mitigate the harsher effects of economic realities on the individual.

The annual rise in London did'nt even get a mention on the News this year, and the usual anti everything suspects, in the form of the daily London paper, only gave it a brief mention in the transport column.
