TX op get rid of mad eyes and you mind find that there might be some sort of progress.I suggest that we make the best of a bad situation and give the SNP time to address our problems IE TOWN CAPPED,BETTER CABS ENFORCEMENT,MORE RANKS and free beer and sandwiches.

stationtone just say the council cap the limit tomorrow, then what,a massive waiting list because ops hire out their plates, then one applicant applys to the court and the towns opened, its not going to happen, especially with dundees record, look at the figures,an average of 2 wav plates a month are granted at least the same are returned, drivers badges are few and between the only signifigant number changes are private hire plates, limiting wav plates will make no difference to dundee,s plight, the ph new ops are already diving hacks so the damage is again limited, increased enforcer activity could help ,i know 3 individuals driving without badges, personally i would like to see a council crackdown on illegal drivers with the ops losing both plate and badge ,these ops are tuning a blind eye to the drivers which are in turn taking work right out our mouths

As i have said i do not have the answers, and i agree capping the town would create its own problems. It would also take forever to get the numbers down by capping alone. But if we do not have people like our selves willing to sit down and discuss the situation we are not going to get anywhere. My only fear is now is the Labour admin has made such a mess that it is impossible to fix .

Sad to say guys, but if things are that bad in Dundee, numbers will fall as operators go bust. eusasmiles.zip

I think this Easter was about 10-15% down.

Still I suppose I'm still earning 85-90%, which is more than can be said for the many folks who have been made redundant.

My Easter was good but drivers complained that it was not as good as previous years. I suppose it's like everything you have to take the good with the bad. If you are good with cash you will have put aside for the bad moments in trade :D

tx op please tell me who started the divide or should I ask, was it the person who asked for a 48 hour strike at the meeting and 24 hours later state we didn't want to strike have anything to do with it, I think you want to remember back to the meeting before the strike we were together it’s what happened after the meeting that divided the trade and you more than most know exactly who divided the trade..

dundee wav you ask stationtone what's the answer the answer is we have to give a little to get something in return.

You are correct in stating that capping our city on its own won’t eradicated all of our problems.

If we could get the council to cap the city but in return the trade agree to a strict age limit on our vehicles and also agree that all vehicles whether they be private hire or public hire be brand new on inception this would control your numbers and more than likely eradicate 95% of hired licenses it would also stop 18 year old fairway’s being put up for service. For the trade to go to such an expense we would require the council in return to enforce the conditions of all operators licenses and our enforcement officers enforce it to the full extent of the law.

To keep our city properly capped a survey has to be undertaken every 3 years and a licensing official has to collate figures on new business and population movement and present these figures every time someone applies for a licence, if these figures show a marked change then a mini survey is undertaken and the application is deferred until the mini survey is produced, then every time a licence is heard it is dealt with up to date information that keeps our city capped.

If you do decide to have a waiting list you have list of people waiting to apply, because they haven’t been put on a list of application they have no expectation so can’t take the council to court.

=D> =D> =D> finally
its about quality controls.

making it difficult to get in,without making it nigh on impossible.
thus keeping the standard high and any owners and potential owners happy, and of course the public lest we forget
