Fair enough tone, but any problem with license conditions and 203020 are surely not worth bothering about compared to hire plates?

I mean, hire plate cars are operating illegally 24/7/365 and have been for years and there's lots of them.

I agree with you that hiring plates is just as bad as the private hire situation . It has been reported that there is 160 hired plates in Dundee, which is a disgrace. The DTA are also trying to get the council to sort that out and i know that my posts are mostly about phv but it is a subject that is talked about on the forum on a daily basis.

Normally after a De-reg event, there is a peak in HC plating, and a slight decrease in PH plating. As the poor lushes who have wanted a HC plate for 10 years suddenly get the chance. So overall the Sum Total of PH/HC are still the same. I say de-reg all. De-reg all wavs and get rid of this city way of controlling drivers.

The one thing i like about this forum is that everyone has an opinion and tx op you are entitled to yours .I do not hire a plate as you are suggestion i am working for someone and just because he does not drive the car does not make it illegally. The court case MR HOLT vs DUNDEE CITY COUNCIL backs me up.

Yes i did have a 22,000 pound wav and yes i failed miserably with it and yes i lost a large some of my wife's inheritance but unlike you i blame myself not the saloon cars,PHV,Dundee city council. when i got my plate i thought i would be able to sit on my backside and getting drunk ever night.
Have drivers on my car that would make me lots of money.I only have my self to blame for not running a business properly.

Also This is the same DTA that you phoned to try and get the trade united and were told that they would not sit round a table with you.I think this is case case of sour grapes.

What planet are you on Stationtone...the dta used to be the DTOA,the O being owner. But alas there werent enough owner members cos they only allowed the person with there name on the door in,because there were so many hire plates at the time.So they changed it to allow drivers in,ie the guys who were hiring the plates. So the dta have done sod all for over 10 years to get rid of hire plates cos half there members would be gone, and you dont want to grass on your mates do you.

Also how can you seriously get behind the hypocrite Mr Stephen, did he not have a PH plate many years ago and did he not (allegedly) illegally pick up as 203020 do.

The same man who wants to do so much for the trade that on the night of one of the biggest meetings of the trade in Dundee for years he called off to go to a football match...

Till you get rid of the Museum Mafia nothing will change...............

I'm about a zillions miles from the city of Dundee, but even I can see there is a tad of hostility between sections of the same trade.

Chaps it's doesn't have to be that way. :-$

Once a White Plate you make some valid points but until we leave the past behind we are not going to go forward and i now like me you still have along time in this game.Maybe just maybe if we work together we can make this a good job to do.

Someone said to me the other day "if a Dundee taxi driver won the lottery he would complain that it was not a roll over" we have to try and change that way of thinking

P.S AGM 7.30pm

The DTA represent and condone the following...
1. Guy's who are well past the Pension age.
2. Guy's who want to hire out the plate once they have realised the above.
3. Guy's who hire the plate's.
4. Guy's who have plate's, and are approaching Point 1.
5. Guy's with Plate's who profit from the Trade and don't even know what the Tarriff is.
6. Guy's who drive the profiteer's car's.
7. A guy who's a Sexual Predator.

My dear Mr .Sussex...What chance have we got ???

You have no chance if you let things carry on as they are.

I can't believe every cab driver in Dundee is a useless buffoon, so try and get a new breed of driver in charge of the association.

Or get together with some of the non-buffoons and start up your own.
