Woman killed in taxi crash named
A 19-year-old woman who died when she was hit by a taxi in Sheffield has been named by police.

Ka Yi Wu died of head injuries after the crash on Manchester Road on Saturday. She was a foreign student living in a flat on Tapton House Road.

Police said she got off a bus and walked into the road, where she was hit by a maroon London-style taxi cab.

The taxi driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released on bail.

Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

I think it is best to wait and see what other information comes out about this. I mean did she look before she stepped into the road etc etc. Perhaps the police take this action as a matter of course now until the facts are found out........

Foreigners do have a habit of looking the wrong way when crossing the road..........

Is it not a law in some places that you are not allowed to overtake a bus at a bus stop :?:
This is maybe why he is been questioned by police for dangerous driving

Not as far as I know, unless there are road markings etc to say so.
You are supposed to let them out when they're leaving a stop.
The report doesn't give much information to come to any conclusion.
We don't even know if the bus had left the stop.
