It's a shame you guys aren't as passionate about anything else as you are about football, then there would a lot more happier ladies around

I have to be honest I quite like watching football but I don't understand the off side rule, penalties and the fall over thing that they all do so it's quite confusing everytime play stops :?

This is the point that FIFA and every other football body seems to miss.

It is used in the Rugby Union Internationals, 1) It takes any doubt whatsoever away and 2) It brings suspense and excitement into the game whilst it is being sorted.

So what if it makes the game last a bit longer! you pay enough and should be rightly entertained with the team scoring the most goals winning. It has to be taken on board that peoples jobs from the tea lady up are affected by a wrong decision.

I'm happier knitting, cooking and bonking!

I last went to a football match in 1967 and that was far too recent!!

Sailing, cricket and rugby for me.

I don't understand the logic of 22 over paid ponces kicking a bag of wind around for 90 Min's and most of the time they cannot get it into the nets

TF the GP is back this weekend

How would it work with cameras? Football is a fast moving game. In the time it takes for someone to review a situation the ball could already be in the net at the other end of the pitch. Just how far do you propose taking play back and how would you rewind the watch to allow for the time played after the incident?
In reality I think we just have to accept that occasionally mistakes will be made.

The referee may have been the nearest to the situation but that does not mean he had the best view or indeed was even looking in that direction. As I have already pointed out it is the assistants responsibility to indicate when the ball has gone out of play.

SKY do replays within seconds.

I can't knit but I'm damn good at cooking and I don't think it's appropriate to comment on my bonking abilities

The offside LAW, they don't have rules in association football, is quite simple.
A player is in an offside position if he is nearer to his opponents goal line than both the ball and the second last opponent.

Here is the text from law 11.
Offside Position
It is not an offence in itself to be in an offside position.
A player is in an offside position if:
• he is nearer to his opponents’ goal line than both the ball and the
second-last opponent
A player is not in an offside position if:
• he is in his own half of the field of play or
• he is level with the second-last opponent or
• he is level with the last two opponents
Offence
A player in an offside position is only penalised if, at the moment the ball
touches or is played by one of his team, he is, in the opinion of the referee,
involved in active play by:
• interfering with play or
• interfering with an opponent or
• gaining an advantage by being in that position
No Offence
There is no offside offence if a player receives the ball directly from:
• a goal kick
• a throw-in
• a corner kick

The link to all the laws is,

You could take up cricket. :-$

The Rules of Cricket

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out, and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.
When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.
When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
