Because of it sitting a rank, and nowhere for the wheelie to get in.

Has to be side entry

Same here in our manor, our LO said if there was an accident and the rear doors got hit how would you get the passenger out?? He was right you can't. That was one of the reasons why they won't let them on, the other one being the whole type vehicle type approval, there are so many of them out there claiming to have done the right test etc etc etc.

what happens with a side loader when its T-Boned?...

Two-door as well, so the B-post ain't as strong.

But then I suppose they license two door Fiesta's for PH in Lichfield.

does accident damage never occur to nearside doors in your area?

There's always the other doors to get them out of where as with rear loading your F***ED.

Many rear loaders have two side doors which can be used in an emergency.

TX124,E7,TW200 have ramps on nearside only. i suppose you could pour them out the other side. might not be too happy when they land though

I'd like to see anyone get a wheelchair passenger out of a rear loader via the side doors after an accident.

Same could be said of trying to get them out of the opposite side door of many side loaders.
TX4 has barely enough room to maneuver a wheelchair in and out from the correct side, let alone the side which isn't designed for this.
In both cases you would be looking at removing the passenger from their wheelchair IMHO. Not pretty in either case.
I wonder what sort of state said passenger would be in if they have been travelling side ways and unrestrained, as many do in a TX?
