Three Men Admit Taxi Robbery
23rd September 2009
Three men have admitted robbing a taxi driver in Latchford on September 1.
David Massey, aged 24, of Statham Avenue, Orford, 21-year-old Greg Taylor, of no fixed abode, and 28-year-old Mark Sherlock, of James Leigh House on Brick Lane, appeared at Warrington Crown Court on Friday to answer the charges.
The taxi driver, a 46-year-old man, stopped to pick up three men on Wilderspool Causeway in the early hours of September 1.
They were driven to Whitley Avenue in Latchford but before leaving the taxi threatened the driver and stole £100, his mobile phone and keys.
The court heard Massey and Taylor were already on police bail for earlier offences – Massey for attempted street robbery and Taylor for attempted murder.
The three men were remanded in custody and will be sentenced on October 30.
