There are many councils who have this rule, can you give more details?

ours are yellow

and must be "applied to the rear doors"

however i saw a VW passat with the stickers on the lowest panel (floor level) on his rear doors, still compliant but only visible to hedgehogs and the very p****d...

Its fine an LA having a PH sticker as a requirement, what happens when the biggest firm in town doesnt bother fitting them, and has the banned word "CAB" on thier own PH vehicles, against LA PH rules, yet no-one bothers?...

I suspect the word CAB short for Taxi Cab, was removed because the LA said it relates to HC's and not PH as you say. The LA should be upholding the law not the PH company. The company seem to be doing the right thing from were I sit.

I think you may have misread what he said,

Quote:
9.5. The words ‘taxi’ ‘taxis’, ‘cab’ or any words so closely resembling those words as to likely be mistaken for them are not to be displayed on or about any Private Hire vehicle and including on any sign or notice displayed on the vehicle or on any stationary or business cards

Quote:
9.1. All Private Hire Vehicles must display Private Hire Identification signs as supplied by the Council and shall ensure each is permanently affixed to both of the rear passenger doors of the vehicle aligned horizontally with the rear door handles and shall remain on display at all times.

They have the word CAB on thier PH vehicles
Drivers do not wear badges
No "Private Hire/book in advance" signs on rear doors as required

Then again, if they plate 20 vehicles I suppose they earn the right to do as they wish............

Thier website even has a photo of a PH estate car, with "cab" on the side and no yellow LA sticker, talk about taking the pish...

It's a joke, you could have 'we charge treble' on the side of the vehicle and revellers will still approach them and start negotiations for a taxi fare home.

In Preston we have a massive problem with flying PH drivers, the majority of them driving cars for the massive firm Millers.

I'm lead to believe from a former employee of theirs, that their management encourage flying among their drivers. 3 theirs in one sentence hey?
