For a long time I have been listing auctions on ebid http://uk.ebid.net/index.php the sort of little brother to ebay.
A couple of days ago (and unknown to me) I put on the three millionth item on their auction site.To my suprise (and to be honest I thought it was some sort of joke at first) I got an e-mail from ebid telling me I'd won £3,000 dollars as a result.
But,it wasn't a joke I have ,for the first time in my life won a competition (and one I hadn't even realised I'd entered)
All the years I've been on ebay and never got so much as a free listing.Maybe there is such a thing as a free lunch after all.

well done

Ebay is not for sellers now, you can ONLY pos-rate buyers even if they dont pay or fck you about, also some sections you cant charge postage!

too one sided, and down to bad management and control, i wont sell on there now, plus its a bloody cheek charging listing fees, final valuation fees and THEN, paypal hit you with fees........and who owns paypal?.......ebay, and you are forced to register a paypal account to sell on ebay?....

Well done! I agree, EBay now only any good for buyers. The buyers mess you about BUY NOW! Then don’t pay up. You then incur a charge for their non payment. Try getting the charge back. It’s not easy.

i had 300 + positive ratings, 99.99% good, and sold an "e-book" sent by email....

bloke wanted his money back "ive got most of that info already"

well i bought "ABBA gold" last week and ive got most of the tracks on "ABBAs greatest hits" but tescos refused a refund

ebay kicked me off!

then you see some sellers with 30000 sales and 1200 neg ratings... no problem

ebay once told me that 1 countries ebay (i.e. .co.uk) couldnt ban another countries user (registered abroad)....

The difference here is that you were able to see what was on the ABBA gold cd before you bought it and still chose to buy it. The person that bought the ebook from you couldn't, for obvious reasons, see what was in the ebook first.

Don't mean to be cynical and hope you get every cent, let us know when the free lunch is in front of you on the table. :-k

Congratulations it's nice to hear some good news. With regards to Ebay I don't have problems with them myself although their fees are a little high. I did look into the Ebid site, but, got distracted so perhaps I should have another look at it in the near future
