I had a pick up at Newark station today.I was talking to a chap who was on a rank outside the station, which I presumed was a feeder rank."Oh no" he told me,"Those guys pay £1240 for the privelege of ranking there,we pay nothing".
When I picked me jaw off the floor and uttered "F**k me" I began to wonder just where the most expensive station permit was.I would have thought London, obviously.I know the lads in Derby pay around £500 now.
But £1240.....in NEWARK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Come on chaps, give me your horror stories.

Regards
Steve

It is true that Newark cabbies pay £1240 p.a. for a station pass, but it could have been £620, or even £310, but they CHOOSE to pay top whack...

Didcot-what a p*ss take.
I reckon that's the sort of bullsh*t idea Arrow cars had about East Midlands Airport re no other pick ups allowed.....Like they could cope!

All theyve done is move the taxi pick up area further away from the terminal towards the bottom end of the c/p just another couple of hundred yards for your passengers to walk they cannot really stop other firms picking up prebooked passengers that would amount to preventing consumers from having a choice and would possibly result in the airport getting sued by the government. In fact single company agreements might be treading on thin ice since if other taxis are barred from picking up or setting down prebooked fares is that not against the consumer interest

Yes, choose.

I had a pick up from Newark Northgate last night, and asked a few questions.

The mighty ten.

Some would say choosing to pay, some would also say choosing to keep others away from the rank.
