I had an enquiry last week for a drop in Central London.
How do taxis stand with the congestion charge?
I am guessing that outsiders like myself would get hammered with the charge?
Is it still £8 or did Ken manage to get it up to £500 before he bit the dust? :lol:

But I'm not 100% certain, it's not somehting I've ever looked into.

It's still £8, but goes up to £10 sometime next year.

Tell you what, save yourself the bother, I'll do the job for you.

We are liable. Pay by 2200 same day for basic charge. It then escalates as time goes on.

I normally pay online when I get home, or if I'm not back in time, phone SWMBO to do it.

As long as you have your top sign on and your plates your OK
We had a driver sent a fine for using one of London's bridges along with a pic, he sent a copy of his certification of compliance and his operators licence down to them and it was scrubbed
Don't forget the signage says taxis only not where they come from

I think you're confusing the Congestion Charge with Bus Lanes Skippy.

It's £8. Best bet is to pay it once you have dropped via credit card.

I think if you apply for a exemption and then register you will be exempt, my friend does with a 8 seat mini bus hackney and he said any car with more than 8 seats is exempt and any TAXI . go on there webb site and apply.It takes about 2 weeks but lasts for a year. then they send out a form for you to sign for another each year, it quite easy.

What do the congestion signs state,, do they say London taxis only ???

If you have nine seats you get 100 per cent Congestion Charge discount.
