On an October 2009/25,000miles vehicle.

Not good, is it?

Local main dealer too, couldn't get the parts!!!!

i've been waiting 6 weeks for an anti-roll bar. dealer had 22!! on back order :roll: just off phone gets fitted next week! maybe this one will last longer than the last 3! which last 18000 each :evil: chocolate fire-guards spring to mind!!

Simply not good enough. You would have thought they would have sorted something new to deal with this issue.

My anti roll bar bush starting knocking on my motor last Thursday. Took it to the mechanic who had one in stock and fitted it within 15 minutes. Now that's what you call service. Price, got to take him into town tonight and take him home which on the meter will be about £11. :D

Have any of you tried Euro car parts I believe they have the newer bushes in stock and possibly a solid clutch kit

Wrong again.

Observation of the famous five, in Lincoln who have the misfortune to own a new model fiat/citroen/pugeot.

The latest, bought october 2009, took his in to the pug main dealer on tuesday, complaining of noisy clutch/flywheel. They took it in to investigate, found it was faulty, and received a replacement on friday. They refused to order a new one in advance, on the chance there was nothing wrong with the original.

The oldest, bought in April 2008, runs out of warranty in two weeks, and the owner is kakking himself.

The next time his clutch fails, £1,600 to replace.

Not to mention Anti roll bars, suspension, ball joints, brake pads, discs, tyres, at (how Much!!!!) that last (how long?????)

No skippy, don't think you'll be seeing me in a bread van.

We've been saying that for years Jimbo, they can't handle the heavy workload and road humps that plague our streets.

One lad round here has handed his E7 back to Cab Direct after only 13 months on the road, he's been off the road for the last 6 months with repairs and one thing and another. The local dealer won't honour the warranty that Cab Direct gave with the moto. It's nothing to do with the dealer it's Cab Direct's problems.

His plates come off tomorrow and they fetch the cab back on Wednesday morning.

And that's why I'm not having a Peugeot E7 or any of its derivative sister clones from Fiat or Citroen.

The clutch is only guaranteed for 20,000 mile; that should tell you all you need to know.

When the clutch goes, you have to change the dual mass flywheel (DMF) too. If you don't the clutch is not warrantied. If you just change the clutch without the DMF, there is a very good chance that the now wobbling, teetering, stumbling & lurching assembly (DMF is usually part f*cked at this stage) will damage your gearbox too. Well engineered by Le Frog to give repair garages plenty of work.

There are several hundred of these vehicles in Brum now & it appears that the airport drivers are having far fewer problems than the townies. It seems that the problems start in prolonged heavy traffic, with initial clutch judder, which crescendos with increased engine heat soak. Because the airport drivers do much of their work on fast A roads or motorways, they don't seem to have this trouble, but have commented on clutch judder if they have had passengers into prolonged heavy traffic.

The roll bars & bushes are also a constant problem. Both of these problems are highlighted on the Peugeot Tepee moan forums & it is these forums that eventually steered me away from the E7. And also the fact that one driver in Brum, who does a lot of contract work, (local hospitals & schools) bought the Citreon derivative, a 57 plate, had his first clutch replaced at 16,000 miles under waranty & had two further clutches by 58,000 miles.

At a Peugeot price of £900 & upwards plus VAT, that's not clever engineering. There are solid flywheel replacements, which must be the right alternative, once the clutch is out of warranty, as there is a school of thought that believes that it is the DMF that plays a big part in early clutch wear & failure.

With regard to Peugeot not honouring the warranty, the situation is as follows. If the faulty is part of the conversion work, then it is a Cab Direct problem & not Peugeot's. If it is nothing to do with the conversion work, then it is Peugeot's responsiblity. You will usually find that the conversion work only has a 12 month warranty, but I may be wrong.

You are right about the Cab Direct Warranty only being 12 months, Peugeot keep trying to pass the buck onto Cab Direct and vica versa.

The Conversions are cheap anyway, I've sat in a few and they look cheap and tacky.
