my own personal approached when dealing with council officials that decide they know best and attack the trade.... is to place their jobs in danger... I feel it's only fair... because that's what they do to us... when they make mistakes ..... you have the right to make a corporate complaint.. that has to be dealt with internally.. every driver has the right... and it does not look good on that person's CV.. in fact it wastes a lot of council time specially if say 100 drivers make the same corporate complaint. and if you feel that that department has not acted fairly in dealing with your complaint you can then complain at a higher level about that.... everyone to their own.

That's broadly what I had in mind, but with a points system to boot.

Corporate complaint = from a company???

Not hear of that one before; what's the relevance?

If you are making a complaint about a council department or a council officer that is a corporate complaint..... when I first learned to play chess I learned the rules of the game then I learnt my opponents weaknesses..... I always advise people to learn the system that the council is run by and the rules they have to work under.

Good advice Mr T.

Chess . . . . now there's a game I miss.

School & County Schools, me . . . . but that was a long time ago.

I haven't played in anger for over thirty years now.

Can't even remember the PROPER way to castle now or castling to give it the correct name.

I don't play much myself now... only with the grandchildren... now and again..... it is much more fun playing three-dimensional chess.. using council employees as my pieces. it is surprising how much they don't know.. yet they think they do know.. and then find out they are wrong.. you just have to manoeuvre the situation until it becomes checkmate....
