I can only go by my area and they are staggered, never more than one a night to stop the pi**ed up youths fighting each other.

In my view enforcement by that one council will be fine, all it needs is the rest to do likewise.

You must have a very small area. How many secondary schools are there is Sussex? Ring them all up and see how many have their proms on June 25th or July 2nd. You will be suprised.
I wouldn't expect you to have the full picture because you are not in the limo business so you don't get the enquiries. I would gusee that your quote about never more than one a night is just a guess without any factual information. There may be only one a night in your town but not throuout the whole county.

One of the busiest venues in the area for proms, will not allow the authorities onto their property to make checks!

They can't stop VOSA or the Police if they want access.

What would happen if one of these sheds was in an accident? The parents will be all over the Police talling them they didn't do enough to protect little angles safety.

There is a focus here on Limo's, but the bigger problem is wedding cars, exotic sports cars, funeral stretches, ice cream vans, artic tractor units, army tracked vehicles, even neighbours with "nice executive cars" to name but just a few!

I can confidently say that in my area 95% of 8 seater limos are correctly licenced, but i have seen a marked increase in the type of vehicles i mention above turning up regulary at local prom venues.

"They can't stop VOSA or the Police if they want access."

I have been told the police would have to take the first step.
With there budget cuts, i can't see them being eager to get involved.

"South Staffordshire council have written to every secondary school in the area to find out where each prom is being held. "

I am reliably informed, they had a response from only ONE SCHOOL !!!

In my licensing district there are nine state secondary schools.

In Sussex which has 13 licensing districts there are 73 state secondary schools.

Just under six per council is easily achievable.
