This council is wobbling all over the place. And they know we will never stop until the de-restriction of the market is achieved. Regardless of how many plates are issued and for whatever reason in the meantime.

The system is set up to fail at some point. De-restriction is therefore, inevitable. It is only a question of time and pressure.

Oh and saf, you know I'm right.
Ha you have been saying this shat for years Gary!!

I think it was this comment that shook the boys up a bit:
Quote:
I suppose, after paying 40-50K for a plate, you would have to believe everything in the garden is rosy. It never ceases to amaze me how people, after a serious level of financial commitment, can be blinded to the inevitability of their own situation – the trade is fecked and on a downward spiral.

It must be hard for them Ali.

Can't see it happening Garry :D
One thing is for sure though,if it ever does you know as well as everyone else that if your making very little money now ,you will make even less.
I know you will come out with,"only the strong will survive",but if there's more taxis, less work simple as that.Everyone will be out all the hours all the days, surely you can do the maths. :?

So what are you Ali ?,are you an owner who drives two taxi's at the same time?
Are you an owner that drives one taxi and rents out the other?
Or did you as i said before just, "sell the plates as soon as you got them".
If you are renting one out, are you one of these greedy barsteward owners
you used to go on about or are you just one of the business men Gary keeps talking about. :?
Now just remember one of your previous posts before comment.

i've made it quite clear saf, im in this for money.
whether that be driving a taxi selling a plate,or renting it out.

i don't have a problem with those that do it,i do have a problem with those that would try to stop others from moulding there own future(i:e stopping them from getting there own plate)
i also have a problem with those that would lie about exactly what it is they think they have.
and an even bigger problem with ppl that cant even admit what they are, even although its blatantly obvious to everyone else what they stand to lose, although i think those very ppl(you)have a much bigger problem with their own Psyche, than i do with their attitude in general.

i had so many plates saf that i don't see the value in them at all.
been out of it so long that i find it hard to grasp why ppl would go to such lengths to protect what they perceive they have.
the reality is,its not a business, its a job and as such should be in the hands of the self employed workers.

if you try to truly run it as a business, then you'll be lucky to get 25k a year.
that hardly lands it in the realms of the ftse 100.
but heh ho each to their own religion eh!

btw the other plates sitting in my drive doing nowt and has been for six months, because it just isn't worth the effort.

If your,"in it for the money",why is your taxi sitting in the drive doing nothing, seems very strange. :?

greed, fear, call it what you like saf.

the reality is, that we have those that have, trying to stop those that haven't getting the same as those that have.

the thing is those that have don't realize that what they have isn't actually worth very much at all.

in short there shatting on there fellow workers for a very few pieces of silver.
and its pathetic.
