Black cab driver 'critical' after crash at Botanist on the Green in Kew

A taxi driver was in a critical condition after his black cab drove into the front of the Botanist on the Green pub.

The driver was taken to a west London hospital after police received reports that a vehicle had hit the pub on Kew Green.

One regular at the Coach and Horses pub, opposite where the accident happened, said the driver appeared to have collapsed at the wheel and the cab drifted over the road before stopping in the doorway of the Botanist.

Police and ambulance crews responded to the accident at about 1.15pm on Monday and the area was cordoned off.
