So the yanks want to take on the chinese in the UK market

I doubt the bookies would give odds on them selling more than a dozen and if the build quality is up to the usual yank standards well I don't think I'll be tempted

My Lincoln Towncar (not a stretched limo) was a 4.6L V8 and if I kept reasonable speeds, it would do around 30 MPG.

Green OptionGo to the beginning of Tabbed Panels. Go to the end of Tabbed Panels

The MV-1 is the only vehicle in its class with an available Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) engineered and assembled Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) fueling system option. Because it's factory-installed, the MV-1 with the CNG option ensures the same durability, reliability, and quality that fleets demand from gasoline-powered vehicles, while reducing operating expenses as CNG is generally less expensive than gasoline. Since natural gas is primarily a domestic fuel source, the CNG MV-1, with a 290-mile CNG range, is good for the environment and good for America. Now, everyone can breathe easier.

CNG Features
Unique CNG fueling system option designed and factory-installed, not an aftermarket conversion.
Estimated 290-mile CNG range (which includes a 40-mile low level indicator).
Three Type-3 CNG tanks integrated seamlessly into the vehicle design and factory-installed.
Best-in-class luggage capacity (29.1 cubic feet).
21.1 Gasoline Gallon Equivalent (GGE).

VPG and Clean Energy
VPG has a strategic partnership with Clean Energy to capitalize on its extensive experience with CNG and its fueling infrastructure. Clean Energy is the largest provider of CNG for fleets in North America and is continuing to expand its CNG fueling infrastructure throughout North America.

There was mention last year of CNG being taxed at about 30p per litre which would push it up quite considerably and as it has the lowest energy density of any fuel the economics might evaporate overnight although it is a comparatively clean fuel and would meet most emission standards

LPG is on a reduced duty rate till 2014, im not sure about CNG, i pass a truck stop selling it at "26p" accoording to the signs

Quote:
7. The CNG duty rate is set at the same rate as the LPG rate in kg. However, due to its properties the litre equivalent duty rate is higher than that for LPG. Total consumption (duty paid) of CNG, or NG as it is sometimes referred, from 1996-97 to 2003-04 is only around 40 million litres. Consequently, the cost to the Exchequer of incentivising CNG is negligible and so are the estimates of the monetary benefits.
