He has to drive there, we don't. Having said that, there's a bit of the story missing. What was said/done in the lead up to the part the video shows? Perhaps the action taken, tho' imho, over the top, was 'justified'. Only the driver concerned can truly answer that one.

Some more details about this...

John was sitting in his Taxi near this thug-cop.

A motorist approached the thug-cop and asked him what all the congestion was.

The thug-cop replied it was a Taxidrivers demonstration.

The motorist then shouted "All Taxi Drivers are w**kers!"

John took umbridge with this and replied "Who you calling a w**ker?"

The thug-cop then went ballistic at this, and the rest you can see for yourself.

John was later released without charge after 20 minutes with a broken wrist.

Really?

Perhaps it was a counter English Defence League demo?

Is this true you now support the fascist EDL by attending their demonstrations?

How is this compatible with your membership of the far left railway union which contains many immigrant members?

Can you explain to me why this arrest was unlawful?

I know that question wasn't posed to me, but the handcuffing IMO makes it an illegal arrest.

And both of us know that the real reason no charges are happening is because the police messed up.

Handcuffs have no bearing on the legality of an arrest, they are simply tools which are used to restrain someone. Same as sticking a violent individual, it's just a tool to affect an arrest.

If you nick someone for obstruction, and the circumstances surrounding that obstruction cease to be, then providing no other offences were disclosed / commited, then you have the perfectly legal action of de-arresting.

Lets take a situation where a bunch of scrungies want to stop a excavator entering a building site for a new road. Once the obstructors have been asked to move and they refuse, they can be arrested for obstruction.

Then the lorry enters the yard, no more traffic is due that day or likely to be obstructed by 'ratty the tree man' so he's released.

The same response as 99% of the trade gave you then. :D

It's a serious question Mr Anon. How in gods name can you be a member of the RMT and on the other hand support the EDL?

Did you know under RMT rules you could be disciplined and kicked out of the union for that.

Don't take my word for it, ask Mr BB who knows all about union membership.

I don't give a flying leftie who you support or belong to, thats your choice, it just makes me laugh with the hypocrisy of the whole situation.

Earlier this year while the RMT union were making their preparations to take part in a counter demonstration against the BNP/EDL organised by the Unite Against Fascism organisation.

London Taxi Branch members of the RMT were soliciting members on the RMT London Taxi Branch controlled LTDF forum for volunteers to attend the demonstration in support the EDL. Needless to say, when it was established some drivers were favourable with the idea the EDL wasted no time in joining the forum to start a recruitment campaign.

I must add that members of the forum did raise issue with the moderators that the EDL posting on the forum and such a subject wasn't suitable nor appropriate for a taxi trade based forum. A decision was made to remove the thread from "taxi trade topics" and re-located it in "the authorities" section of the forum.

Fortunately only a small amount of narrow minded individuals saw fit to get involved with this thread.

I am producing postings and the moderators comments that were posted as they speak for themselves. The LTDF forum has a multitude of moderators plus an administrator that are all to my knowledge active members within the RMT London Taxi Branch.

In my opinion the moderators and administration were not moderating the forum but actually facilitating the EDL in their recruitment campaign. Which brings me full circle to where I began this story (The Ubuntu charity function at Battersea power station)

I wonder if this charitable organisation would have accepted the services of the RMT London Taxi Branch IF they had been aware of the darker side of its activities with the EDL ?

Yep, that's the pointless reply you'd make on the ranks and the RMT forum, now try to answer the above posts about you, the facist EDL and how that sits with your membership of the RMT Union.

Can you answer me one question, even if do choose to ignore the obvious?

Why are EDL supporters all short(ish), fat, bald, tattoed, at least one tooth missing, and have St Georges flags wrapped around them on all occassions?

An example. (minus the flag)

You still never answered this either csp.

The driver involved was not arrested but released soon after his detention without charge.

During this unlawfull and cowardly arrest . . . etc

I asked what legal case had deemed it an unlawful arrest, unless you (the union) managed to get a civil action before the county court within 24 hours opposed to the usual 12 months. :?
