A woman who dodged a £13 taxi fare has been handed a four-week curfew to stop her going out at night.
Naomi Robertson, of Ellesmere Way, Carlisle, took a taxi from Borland Avenue to her home, but then told the driver to drop her off around the corner from her house.
When he refused, she said she would need to go inside her house to get the £13.55 she owed him but, although the taxi driver waited, she failed to come back out.
The 21-year-old pleaded guilty to making off without payment at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court.
She was handed a six-month community order with a curfew between 9pm and 6am for four weeks. Robertson was also ordered to pay £43.55 in compensation to the taxi driver to cover her fare and his loss of earnings, and £85 in court costs.
