c. Where any person (child or otherwise) is conveyed in a pushchair, or similar, the pushchair, or similar, must be correctly secured using the straps provided by the vehicle manufacturer. Any other travelling position is unsafe?

The Proprietor of a licensed Hackney Carriage shall ensure that all journeys
undertaken either:
 Start within the District
 Finish within the District
 Part of the journey passes through the District

Private Hire Vehicle Operators must make provision for hire vehicle bookings to be made in Ashfield. This could be an office or a free phone. Where the operation is a joint operation with another authority the two operations must be operated independently

If its a free phone how is he going to

The Operator shall keep a record and maintain at his/her premises particulars of all
vehicles operated by him or her, which shall include the following:-
 the licence plate number;
 the registration number;
 the name and address of proprietor;
 the names and addresses of drivers of the above vehicles;
 the badge numbers of drivers;
 copies of licences for all vehicles and drivers; and
 copies of insurance certificates for all vehicles.

15. A hard copy of the records must be produced immediately, on request, to any Authorised Officer of the Council or Police Constable

Are you saying a PH Operator is far better licensing themselves in Mansfield then working in Ashfield?

I would have thought it was unsafe to carry a child in a pushchair,unless the vehicle was designed and crash tested?

So an Ashfield Hackney can`t do a job from berwick to newcastle because it wont start,finish or pass through the district?

It would appear you can have a base over the border the same as mansfields 5 mile zone?

I wonder how many more are giving op licenses out of area?

They have 'Hire' licenses in Ashfield, they appear to be insane, having known Nigel for a few years now, I fully understand this :lol:

The full sentance reads, "Where the operation is a joint operation with another authority the two operations must be operated independently".

I took that to mean that if you have an office in two different areas then they must be operated independantly from each other. That is you can't pass work from one to the other. How did you interpret this?

I wonder how many more are giving op licenses out of area? Far to many IMO

The only point is that the booking should be taken within your licenced area...Besides...if you take an out of area booking pickup to another out of area drop off and never went through your own area....then your LA have no right to take action as it would be bugger all to do with them...the run never touched on their area of jurisdiction :?:

That's why Mansfield are getting shirty with these out of town PH who are working in Mansfield. They've got no jurisdiction over them because they are licensed Bolsover.
