I have just watched the news. It is £1.00 to drop off and £1.00 for 10 minutes to pick up. After 10 minutes you have to pay extra. I have rang the airport but I was unable to get an answer as to how much extra and I couldn't get an answer as to credit card charges for using the car park. Priviously if you used a credit or debit card to pay for the parking they would charge you an extra £1.50 just to use the card. You can now get 1 hours free parking in car park 6 which is over 1 mile from the terminal but there is a free shuttle bus available. They stated that the shuttle bus takes 4 1/2 minutes to get to or from the terminal but they didn't say how often the buses ran.

You need to speak to NCP who run the car park, they'll tell you all the prices.

I was put through to the people who run the car park so I assume that was NCP then. The chap on the phone hadn't a clue what the prices were.

Sounds about right for NCP. Did you see that woman on the 6.30 news? She was saying it will make it better.

I take it that you mean the woman who runs the airport. Of course she is correct. There will be less congestion in the car park. Everyone will be dropping and picking up at the BP garage.

You want to try the garage in Kegworth. They really do have a sense of humour in there.

ROBBING BAST***S ALERT

Well, just been down to pick up at EMA.Like a good boy I followed the short stay lane rather than the rapid drop off and......there it is.....it's f****** not one but TWO pounds to pick up!!!You get 30 mins the same as Manchester.I was in there about 90 seconds.
I can feel a fare increase coming on......

Aggrieved,
Derbyshire

If the punters don't pay the difference I don't go in simple as that.

Car Parking

At East Midlands Airport, we have made it even easier for you to get away. As well as our pre-book, long stay and short stay car parking, we have now introduced new dropping off and picking up facilities.

Passenger Drop-Off:

Rapid Drop Off zone - 10 minutes, for just £1
Short Stay Car Park – 30 minutes, for just £2
60 minutes free parking in Car Park 6 and free transfer to the terminal.
(Please be aware that cars must not be left unattended when using the Rapid Drop Off Zone facility)

Passenger Pick-Up:

Short Stay Car Park – 30 minutes, for £2
60 minutes free parking in Car Park 6 and free transfer to the terminal.
Passengers are advised that there will no longer be a 10 minute free option in the Short Stay Car Park.
