Yes, and every forum member and their dog knew that, so what's your point, or don't you recognise the similarities between the two trades.

For a start, most taxis are on circuits, restricted or otherwise.

So are they allowed to cherry pick or not?

And how's your own cherry picking?

However does the public manage when you're on the golf course?

Quote:
She pays a radio rent each week to work the hours she pleases.

As I said, cherry picker extraordinaire.

Of course, I wouldn't mind, but it's they hypocrisy of the whole thing that's so blatant.

Hardly, I'd say from your post you didnt actually know what toots was, at one point I think you thought she was me.

I dont really think I should educate you about the taxi business or private hire for that matter.

The amount of inexperience you have shown in a few short posts graphically shows you very possibly dont drive a cab, or have little idea how to drive one.

You definately have no experience of deregulation, otherwise your attitude would be different.

Perhaps you should ask GBC what hours he works and ask if he cherrypicks, indeed, ask him if he has a radio.

The only hypocracy on here is coming from you, and of course your two wee mates, who have in one way or another earned £100K plus by illegally selling plates.

Yeah, maybe £30 or £40 per shift.

ffs

So if they're earning that on a quiet shift, why do the public experience a shortage of taxis?

FFS to you as well :D

In a nutshell you're accusing drivers of cherrypicking by choosing the hours that they want to work, then you say you "go out when it suits me".

No I didn't I accused them of working only when it was, as guaranteed as it could be, to be busy. That was cherry picking.

Which is not only complete waffle, but has absolutely nothing to do with cherry picking.

Of course, I'm too ignorant of the trade to understand these things

A shortage where and when? Do you know locations and the time people are waiting?

Or do you think toots is a liar. Because if you think she is, perhaps you should tell her.

Cannae understand that - I think I might get a plate in the Wirral and work the so-called 'quiet times' - I'll make a fortune. \:D/

Yeah ok I'm wrong and you're right and 100 odd cabs havent been snatched back here because they're all making so much money that isnt possible  Ffs I don't claim to know everything, but, this I do know and that is de-restriction hasn't worked here at all. You should think about it seriously before you get on your high horse and make such demands from the council

I can't recall commenting on those 100 cabs being snatched back Toots, could you point me towards where I did?

Again you try to twist it around and not actually answer a question to a point you raised in the first place.

You said, a matter of minutes ago;

why do the public experience a shortage of taxis

Before that the general thrust of your posts have been one of disbelieving what toots was stating.

BTW, I can't recall making demands from any council, so you seem to know what I've been doing better than me

So why is there a shortage then? Correct me if I'm wrong, but low earnings generally means oversupply, or is it different in Tootsland and your area?
