So I take it you're the top of the tree when it comes to being a wanabee profiteer who doesn't like the truth and whose only contribution is to abuse people?

Well you're certainly in good company.

The worst thing about restricted numbers is not that it allows profiteering at the expense of others, but that it allows people like yourself to do the profiteering.

I find most of the taxi mags interesting, to a smaller or larger degree, but methinks they will struggle in the years to come, as basically it's all old news.

I'm frankly amazed none of them have gone seriously into the on-line side of business.

The costs of all that printing and distribution will never go down in price, and trying to get advertisers to invest in an old form of media must be getting harder and harder.

But hey, WTF do I know.

Thats true, but the majority of cab drivers like something to read in their cabs.

I dont think I write old news......I put a spin on things which sometimes upsets people

I agree, but we both know you are an exception to a very large rule.

Drivers do indeed want to see what others have to say on the issues of the day, and they do have plenty of time to read the mags.

But that still doesn't excuse the way the paper mags have neglected the on-line market.

FFS it don't cost a lot.

It is a good case, and I suspect many drivers earn more on an average Saturday night than it costs to run TDO for a year.

If TDO ever did stoop as low as to take advertising I suspect the admin would do very nicely.

But thankfully it appears TDO admin don't need to sell their souls to the likes of LTI and Cab Direct.

Why do you consider it to be selling their soul. It's advertising, taxi drivers themselves advertise on their cabs. Are you suggesting that it's ok if taxi drivers want to advertise on their cabs and benefit from other businesses but it's not ok for others to advertise and benefit from the taxi business :-|

How many of the trade mags rip the s*** out of LTI when they deserve it?

How many of the trade mags rip the s*** out of Fowlers when they deserve it?

I could go on.

It didn't fully answer my question, but, I get your drift. They are however unlikely to bite the hand that feeds them
