That's not how I read it at all.
"Originated with you" to me just seems a slightly indirect way of saying "you said". Perhaps if he'd used the words, "Originated from what you said", then that might have been referring to what was said in response to what I posted, thus not implicating me.
But if you look at what he said in its entirety, it was:

At best he's saying that I'm the best of a bad lot, at worst he's saying I'm the villian of the piece, but my money is on the latter, which I think is bullocks.
