or any others had the same?

6.30pm-12am could do no wrong, decent jobs, good punters a good start to a friday shift all round. Then midnight till 3.30am, sheesh!!!!!! I know it can turn at any time in our trade, but ffs (© captain cab) did it not just go tits up tonight. No hires, loads of, numpty punters, lost count, temper tantrums, many a (mike not keyed of course  ) then the final (no) hire came along......

drunk, full of angst, and not prepared to give a destination, took the easy way out, asked him to get back out the car, drove off, and went home. Who needs the hassle at this time of the day. Fully expect complaint by the morning, but seeing as I'm the Company Secretary, I'll be writing the reply, happy days. In house voddy at my side, writing this before retiring for the night. Surely tomorrow won't be the same. Or will it be Groundhog Day, again

You are not alone  To be fair I was kept going all night but Omg the punters were disgusting. I have never experienced quite so many domestics in one night. If I wasn't such a mild mannered person I would have gladly slapped quite a few of the so called 'ladies'. I'm going to chill for a little minute or two and then I'm taking my coffee and my duck and hitting the sack and hope tonight is not the same

Funny, our drivers down here are saying the same of the evening of Friday 6th. Trucked 'em all into the pubs and clubs from 6-11pm, no problem but many failed to surface for the return journey and the ones who did weren't worth carting.

Dead the opposite down here! 6.00pm - 12 am the worst start to a Friday ever with my take being down by at least 40% ( good job I do not carry a sharp knife or a piece of rope), after then I caught a couple of good fares which by the end of my shift dragged me out of the mire.

Saturday night was totally the opposite with my take 6.00pm - 12.00am doubled on the previous night. "Hens & Stag parties" were all over the place and a generally good atmosphere, however a little later on a few were training for the Olympic sprint with a couple of black fellows trailing a white boy, a strange way to train at 4.30 a.m with them zig zagging all over the place..............perhaps it was cross country or something  .

Yes indeed, particularly when one considers results from recent olympics wherein the sprinting was dominated by the black fellows and the shooting dominated by the white fellows.........................

what a difference a day makes, 24 little hours..........etc

Sat night, slow but steady 6.30pm-3.30am, no big hires, no numpties, no trauma at all, in fact. Funny thing was, my takings on both nights were very similar  Just another enigma of the trade I suppose.

Last night was so much easier, nice punters, easy flowing jobs, few no shows, little dead milage and my hourly take was up. Happy days :D

Same down here to last night, it didn't help because we had the Annual Ashfield Show which attracts all the druggies and alcoholics from all the areas around hear.

6 of our lads had runners last night which is strange but then again the show was on.

horrendous night here busy but stressful with 2 drivers away and a third unavailable and all the work concentrated into the 22.00 to 23.30 slot when loads of people wanted to go home from weddings chritenings etc and hundreds of students/teenagaers wanted to descend on the local nightclub because the radio one DJ westwood was playing there so had to turn 30 or 40 jobs down during that period otherwise not busy for the first sat of the month but the quality of the jobs was good so cars did earn money up to midnight

I have found that the airport arrivals pages on Google and teletext are often not even updated until the damn flight has landed. I live about 35 minutes away from EMA and the planes usually fly past our town when on final approach to landing. I think I will get a good telescope and see which planes are coming over before setting off.

have you tracked a flight onscreen with flightstats?

my mate came back from faro to BHX, 20 minutes early (nice), but then and had to fly over walsall to wait for his slot, if id looked out the window id have seen him!
