Personally, I don't see any problem with the dress code - I'd actually support it.

I always wear jeans, clean black trainers and a polo shirt when I'm working. I asked in the licensing office if this would still be acceptable and was told that it would be.

I'd like to see a clampdown on dirty cars more than anything though - the state of some of them (particularly fleet cars) is shocking.

Licensing Officer in Ashfield dashed into the meeting of the Hackney Committee and screamed..

"The Drivers are turning ugly"

Chair of the Committee looked up and said...

"Tell 'em to get a shave and an 'aircut".

Takes me 5 minutes to have a top and bottom.

Well considering your 'uniform' is a blue polo shirt and a fleece jacket they'd be hard pressed not to agree. You'd be suprised how many drivers have refused to wear the polo shirts the company provide.

The dirty cars thing is cos they are fleet cars it's that attitude of 'it's not my car so why should I clean it' ffs. Having said that I've seen some sh*te inside at the front of HC's they look like a bin so full of rubbish from take aways. Some drivers need a serious kick up the bum but it is still only a minority.
