The red taxi on fire in waterloo station was a TX1. It did have a W registration so I think it was a TX1 owned by a fleet in East London. The driver was rather shocked to say the least. You can't see him from the pic but he was standing being questioned by the police near the rank opposite.

Skippy ANY vehicle can catch fire they are full of highly flammable materials many of which are far more flammmable than the fuel this was probably just bad luck ! and as for the turning circle LTI don't have a monopoly on fitting vehicles with suitable steering racks so if other manufacturers want to break into the London market I'm sure they can

Thats one unlucky driver who won't be earning much this week !

If it's a rental he will. He just picks up another cab from the garage.

If it's his own, he can still pick up a rental Taxi and claim back the cost from his insurance.

Until the age limit comes in, then rentals will be scarce for a while.
