I suppose if the invited speakers make excuses & don't turn up, the alternative could be to draw a ballot from those attending members for a substitute speaker on the chosen member's own topic.

That would enliven the meeting somewhat!!

Of course the hardest bit will be arranging for the conference to be in the Capital. Or is very likely in the next year or two?

London is probably one of the better venues, a little pricey though.

A venue in the Smoke is bound to be expensive, but if it draws a bigger crowd it must actually be easier to afford.

Perhaps the London "gang" could share on the open day part.

It is strange that the NTA is strongest in the Four Corners yet under-represented in the middle of the country - though I understand why that probably is the case.
