Plymouth to London single - three people - Taxi same price as the train.

Plymouth to London single - four people - Taxi cheaper than the train.

Takes about an hour longer - but gets you to the door of where you want to be from the door you want to leave from.

As to returns - a forty percent rise in rail fares would edge that towards cheaper by Taxi.

I won't lose sleep if Railways are no longer subsidised.

Airport Transfer firms are already competitive with the railways, and, if people did but know it, so are we.

The bad news is of course, airlines are even cheaper.

You may well be fecked.

I'm not.

People can save hundreds of pounds by altering their travel and changing at a station on the way, for example we'll take the West Coast main line, book from Chesterfield to Penzance with a change at Bristol Temple Meads, (you don't have to get off the train) you can save pounds doing it that way and choosing your booking times carefully..
