Skull is a shortened version of Garry's real nickname which was "screaming skull" as he is incapable of normal conversation, preferring to always shout, in the mistaken belief that it makes him right about everything.

He left the taxi company purely because he refused to comply with the radio rules of the company and when he was subsequently disciplined (£25 fine), he refused to pay it. The guy he drove for offered to pay the fine but "Screaming Garry" chose to leave the company in a feeble attempt to martyr himself, rather than accept that he was wrong.

Since then Garry has waged war on anybody and everybody who dares hold an opinion different to his.

He freely admits that he wants to destroy the taxi trade (not just the individuals who have crossed him).

The same skull who was at loggerheads with "Colky" is now working hand in glove with him (or at least he thinks he is!!) but Colky is just playing him for the fool he is. It, sadly is much the same with Jasbar and Colky.

As for the plate scam, there is a perfectly legal system in operation which facilitates the transfer of ownership of companies which operate taxi licences. The same system operates elsewhere without fuss unless the gutter press thinks it can invent a story and, as we saw, the 2 numpties then jump on the bandwagon. The truth never matters.

Neither Skull or Jasbar properly research their subjects but choose instead to make wildly inaccurate comments and claims based on what is gossip, rumour and innuendo.

The hospitals in Edinburgh still have contract with a taxi company. They are well aware of what the phc company are up to. Just because the ba'heids don't know about anything happening, doesn't mean that the rest of us are complacent and nothing has been, or is being, done!

First Fasties banned them then the taxiforum banned them so they are left with nowhere else but here to spout their lies. It's not their stupidity just their abuse of others that folks are appalled at. Unruly kids are better behaved than them

Isn't it true that this system was put in place to get around the fact that transfering a licence is illegal under the 1982 act?
Didn't ECC allow the surrender of several hundred individually held licences and the issue of new licences in the names of companies owned by these same individuals?
Wasn't this just a blatant attempt to circumvent the will of parliament and to legalise that which was in fact illegal?

Weak, worried and fearful, my Swannee, we are not having a good time now are we? You really should learn to hide your emotions, but that's presuming you ever gain enough knowledge to understand them first. You're like a puppet on a string, Swannee. You must be struggling to keep your illusion going to make an outburst like this, and with so much effort. The current recession and subsequent government cuts are going to break a lot of people over the next few years. Little pretendy business illusions rarely fare well in such an economic climate.

Allow me to elucidate Toots.

Capitalism is about selling illusions to the masses in an attempt to enslave them to a dream they think is real. The truth is, ownership of anything is a pipe dream, and everything you think you own, actually owns you. Life in a capitalist society is about unthinking mindless units of production all chasing one dream or the other.

The direct debit monster needs to be feed, and almost everything has to be renewed or replaced at some point, and that costs. Your average punter pays with his arse but owns nothing that can't be taken away from him at some point, through illness, old age or a change in circumstances out with their control. That's not to say their family might not benefit, at least to some extent, but that's normally after they are dead and gone.

Ownership in any real terms is reserved for the Wayne Rooney's of this world. For the rest of us, it is merely an illusion to be dreamt about. That's not to say you shouldn't better your lot but “businessmen taxi drivers”, you've got to be having a laugh. Except for a few, most, don't even come close to owning anything let alone a taxi and plate.

If you win the lottery tomorrow night Toots, then maybe you can claim ownership of yourself. At least you won't have to wake up in the morning to feed that illusion any longer.
